Many Mansions of Christ International is the concept of Okumu Stephen and Cheryl Derby Okumu.  

 

Stephen was born, raised, educated and currently lives in Uganda. He received an upper credit post-secondary education at Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development in Mpigi, Uganda with a Diploma in Social Work and credits in Block Placement and Fieldwork practice. He has committed his life’s work to the welfare and betterment of vulnerable people in Uganda especially children. He worked as a social worker at a local orphanage and has volunteered for various charity organizations before co-creating M.M.O.C.I. He is currently pursuing a B.A. degree in Social Sciences at Kyambogo University Uganda. 

 

 

Cheryl is a licensed practical nurse with 17 years clinical experience in health care. She was born and raised in the U.S. and completed her education at the B.O.C.E.S. School of Nursing, subsequently passing her state boards and working in New York State. She found her passion for all things Africa in 2009 and met Stephen in 2011. She continues to be the voice of the less fortunate and is making this her life’s desire as well. She made her first visit to Uganda in 2013. Since then she has chosen to live permanently in Uganda and married Stephen in 2015.
